Description

A 1000 piece jigsaw approximately 69cm x 48cm when complete. A view of Loch Rusky in the morning. Loch Rusky is a freshwater loch in central Scotland at the eastern edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park near Callander which offers the chance of great reflective images if the timing and weather is right.

Now an established member of the “over 50’s Club” I started off using a film camera many years ago and I remember the anticipation awaiting the results from the lab. The cameras I used were handed down from my (late) father when he upgraded his own equipment. I remember using a Zorki and a Zenith along with a light meter to get the correct exposure. We also developed our own B&W images in a small cupboard under the stairs (no Harry Potter here!). I eventually bought my own camera – a Minolta X300 – in 1988 on Guernsey. Taking pictures using the digital medium was started with a Sony DSC-P9 then a Canon and Panasonic before I discovered the Fuji X-A1. I then upgraded to an X-T20 then an X-T3. I currently shoot with a Fuji X-T5 with a multitude of different lenses. My gear comes with me (almost) everywhere I go. Fuji equipment found my love of taking pictures resurged. I have dipped my toes into wedding photography when friends asked me to take some images of their wedding (Doug and Chiara – thanks!!) I did another when my brother and his fiancée tied the knot in August 2019. I’ve since shot 5 weddings which I’ve enjoyed immensely. One of my images has been published in a small book after a competition on “Visit The Trossachs” Facebook page, two images were published in “Scottish Life” magazine in a feature on Bridge of Allan, several images have been featured in an international gallery organised by “Glasgow Gallery of Photography” in Glasgow. The Gallery now has a new permanent home at Glassford St, Glasgow and a 2nd gallery has just opened on the High Street, Glasgow. I had another showing a sea-king helicopter rescue a tourist at the National Wallace Monument published by Press & Journal.

I hope you get some enjoyment from visiting my page and viewing my images..
